About Me

My photo
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
I am owned by Pauline and Mark Blasky. My hull was built at the Duncan Marine Yard in Taiwan and launched in Dec of 1980. It is a William Garden design based on the Pixie Design and called by Duncan Marine a Freedom 45. They are the fourth owners and have owned me the longest. They have done extensive refitting to me including replacing my entire deck structure and rig. My masts are roughly 10% taller than original and now are made of aluminium as opposed to the original wood ones, which, though pretty, were always problematic. Fresh Water Pump (posted Oct 27, 2009)

The fresh water pump broke last night.  Fortunately it broke when it did and not next week while we are underway.  We would have wasted our fresh water supply before we get to Port Klang.  We replaced it with a spare pump but then that was not working well too.  The 2 pumps were more than 15 years old, so it seems we got good use out of them.  So now we have to buy 2 new fresh water pumps, 1 to be fitted and 1 as spare.
