About Me

My photo
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
I am owned by Pauline and Mark Blasky. My hull was built at the Duncan Marine Yard in Taiwan and launched in Dec of 1980. It is a William Garden design based on the Pixie Design and called by Duncan Marine a Freedom 45. They are the fourth owners and have owned me the longest. They have done extensive refitting to me including replacing my entire deck structure and rig. My masts are roughly 10% taller than original and now are made of aluminium as opposed to the original wood ones, which, though pretty, were always problematic. Keeping the Orthopedic Doctor in Business

While we are here in Singapore we thought it best to get our medical stuff out of the way before the big crossing and the even more scary price of medical treatment in the USA.  So Pauline went through her yearly check the other day and Mark had his blood tested.

That only lightens the bank account a little, so off we went to the orthopedic specialist that a friend recommended.  It turned out to be the same guy who did Pauline's foot before we went cruising so we decided to do a two for one deal.  Mark had his knee partially fixed.  A torn meniscus, some bone spurs, and a cyst drained and Pauline had a screw removed from her foot.  So now it is just a recovery process for a while.
