About Me

My photo
Alaska, United States
I am owned by Pauline and Mark Blasky. My hull was built at the Duncan Marine Yard in Taiwan and launched in Dec of 1980. It is a William Garden design based on the Pixie Design and called by Duncan Marine a Freedom 45. They are the fourth owners and have owned me the longest. They have done extensive refitting to me including replacing my entire deck structure and rig. My masts are roughly 10% taller than original and now are made of aluminium as opposed to the original wood ones, which, though pretty, were always problematic. The Weather Outside is Frightful

Well the epoxy we bought has a slow cure time.  With these temps it is 48 hours.  And it is the coldest day we have had so far, 2 degrees C outside and blowing between 40 and 50 knots with the occasional gust going over that.  But since we are in wait mode for the resin to dry and we thought some heat might help speed it up we fired up the stove.  And the fire inside is delightful.  It has lifted our spirits and Pauline is even singing Christmas songs.

  1. Mark and Pauline, We wish you both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
I hope you don't get sick from the fumes with the heat on inside the boat.

Good luck and enjoy life to it's fullest. JOS
