About Me

My photo
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
I am owned by Pauline and Mark Blasky. My hull was built at the Duncan Marine Yard in Taiwan and launched in Dec of 1980. It is a William Garden design based on the Pixie Design and called by Duncan Marine a Freedom 45. They are the fourth owners and have owned me the longest. They have done extensive refitting to me including replacing my entire deck structure and rig. My masts are roughly 10% taller than original and now are made of aluminium as opposed to the original wood ones, which, though pretty, were always problematic. In Singapore

Pauline’s father passed away on January 28th.  That was just a couple of weeks after his 99th birthday. We had to do some scrambling to get a flight but we made it for the last day of the wake and the funeral ceremonies.  It’s tough to lose him but he has been suffering pretty badly for two years so though it is tough on us we believe he is now better off.  Pauline will stay here for the other knee replacement and recovery and hopefully get the flat ready for rental.  Mark will stay until the first of March, or so, also trying to get the flat ready.  Unfortunately Chinese New Year is about to start which means everything comes to a standstill for a few weeks. We are doing our best but will have to deal with what we can.
