About Me

My photo
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
I am owned by Pauline and Mark Blasky. My hull was built at the Duncan Marine Yard in Taiwan and launched in Dec of 1980. It is a William Garden design based on the Pixie Design and called by Duncan Marine a Freedom 45. They are the fourth owners and have owned me the longest. They have done extensive refitting to me including replacing my entire deck structure and rig. My masts are roughly 10% taller than original and now are made of aluminium as opposed to the original wood ones, which, though pretty, were always problematic. Northwestern Fjord Cruise

We had dreary weather all week and when we found out that it was going to be sunny today, we signed up for a cruise with Major Marine Tours.

We had missed visiting the Northwestern Fjords when we came across from Homer as we were late in the season.  So it was the first time we were there.  There are 3 glaciers side by side, so it was a feast for the eye and so many harbor seals sunning themselves on the ice floes.  We stopped in front of Northwestern Glacier for a while and it was just magnificent.

On our way back, we have sightings of humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, puffins and other sea birds but we did not take any more photos as we have "hundreds" of photos of them.
