About Me

My photo
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
I am owned by Pauline and Mark Blasky. My hull was built at the Duncan Marine Yard in Taiwan and launched in Dec of 1980. It is a William Garden design based on the Pixie Design and called by Duncan Marine a Freedom 45. They are the fourth owners and have owned me the longest. They have done extensive refitting to me including replacing my entire deck structure and rig. My masts are roughly 10% taller than original and now are made of aluminium as opposed to the original wood ones, which, though pretty, were always problematic. Polish dinner

Our friend, Jane made a request for us to make a Polish dinner and that we did.  We had invited Jane and Walt of Callisto, Diana and John of Ma Je Belle and Lynn and Tony of Ambrosia.  With all the boiling and baking in our boat and with the airconditioner broke, it was way too hot to have dinner on Sari Timur, so we got Callisto to host the party.  The menu was Beet and Horseradish for starter, Perogies (dough with potato and cheese filling, eaten with sour cream), Golabki (cabbage stuffed with meat baked with tomato sauce), Kielbasa (polish sausages, eaten with ketchup and horseradish).  We did not plan for any dessert but Diana made a Frangipani Pie (with pineapple and coconut with meringue on top).

Dinner turned out to be nice, food was good, company even better.  Some photos to feast your eyes on.

Back in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

After spending a few hectic days in Singapore, we are finally back on the boat at Sutera Harbour Marina, Kota Kinabalu.

The next few weeks will also be hectic as we prepare to sail up to the Philippines in November.  We still have a mountain to climb plus a white water rafting trip.

Will keep all posted.
